The “Whatcha talkin’ ’bout Willis” celebrity is back at it again.
Gary Coleman, who burst onto the small screen in a big way as one of the stars on Diff’rent Strokes finds himself back in the news once again. This is really a sad story because Coleman seemed to have it all. But, in the midst of bad management, and many issues in life, he just can’t seem to get it together. Instead of maintaining his celebrity status and doing well, he seems to be full of anger and frustration. It’s really getting to the point where Gary Coleman needs to enroll in an anger management class to get things under control.
The most recent hit of Gary Coleman’s career took place early last Saturday morning. Apparently that’s when he actually hit someone with his car in Payson, Utah. Authorities say Coleman got into an argument with Colt Rushton because he was upset when Rushton took some pictures of him inside a bowling alley. According to witnesses, the two men started fighting while inside the bowling alley. The argument continued as they walked outside. Then, while backing out of his parking space, the 40 year old child-star Coleman allegedly hit Rushton, as well as another car. Police say it’s unclear if Coleman intentionally ran into Rushton, who was released from the hospital after receiving treatment for minor injuries. Even though, at this point, no tickets have been issued, the Payson Police Department say they are investigation the matter.
I don’t know whether to feel sorry for Gary Coleman, or to simply say, “It’s time to grow up Coleman.” He’s 40 years old, and he should know better. He became famous as a child actor on the very popular show Diff’rent Strokes. But for some reason, every child actor on that show has a history of problems. Coleman needs to realize no matter what, and no matter where he is, people will remember him for that role. As a result, if he’s out in public, people might want to take some pictures. If you don’t want your picture taken, don’t go out in public.
Unfortunately this is not the first time Coleman has found himself in trouble after a fan upset him. In 1999 he pled no contest to disturbing the peace after punching a fan whom he claimed insulted him while trying to get his autograph. Of course if Coleman was true to form, when the fan asked for the autograph, Coleman was probably rude first. There’s a track record here of a bratty star who’s never grown up. It’s like he expects the world to give him everything. But, reality is, you get what you put out. Coleman has illustrated time and time again, that even though he’s now 40 years old, he’s still a spoiled little brat who’s refusing to grow up.
Gary, maybe it’s time you enroll in an anger management class. While you’re at it, you might also want to think of some counseling to deal with the obvious emotional scars you’re carrying around as access baggage.
