Woman Claims ‘Benjamin Button Is Her Story!benbutton

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Gets A Little More Curious

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that an Italian woman by the name of Adriana Pichini has filed legal papers claiming the screenplay to the Brad Pitt film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is based on a short story she wrote in 1994.

According to court documents her story is called Arthur’s Return to Innocence. Pichini copyrighted the short story in Italy and also sent it to publishers in the United States. But, it was never published.

“Life Is Like A Dance”

A great line in the Benjamin Button movie describes life as a dance. Apparently that’s now what’s going on in relationship with this court case. A Judge in Rome plans to read Pichini’s story, and also watch the movie, to see if there are enough similarities to launch an investigation into the matter. It’s unclear if Pichini is looking for financial compensation. However, she does have an uphill battle ahead of her. According to the filmmakers, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is inspired by, but not based on, the 1921 story of the same name written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Of course if you don’t know, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is about a man who ages backwards. The flick is also up for 13 Acadamy Awards, including one for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Enjoy the show!
