Terminator Director Takes Blame For Tirade

Director Takes Heat For Bale Tirade

Christian Bale is making the rounds promoting his upcoming movie Terminator Salvation release. But, one topic that keeps coming up revolves around an on-set tirade by Bale last summer. When the focus should be on the relaunching of yet another movie franchise, the press seems more concerned about a cursing Bale.

In the wonderful world of the Internet, news travels fast. Audio news travels even faster. As Warner Brothers preps for the next Thursday, May 21 release of Terminator Salvation, studio execs are also looking into who leaked the audio of the incident.

In the meantime, the Terminator Salvation director, McG says…”Throw me under the bus for this one!”

McG Says Blame Me

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, McG talked about Bale’s profanity-laced outburst towards the director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, on the set of Terminator Salvation last summer. McG said it was all his fault because they were shooting a war scene. He went on to say, “Everybody was very wound up and everybody was fired up and I wanted him that way…I riled him up! I deserve all the blame. In fact, through me right under the bus.” McG also said despite Bale’s harsh words, he and Hurlbut quickly made up and are good friends. Christian Bale has also apologized for the incident.

While discussing the firestorm that started when audio of the incident show up online in February, McG said “It broke my heart, because I take all the responsibility for protecting my actors on teh set day in and day out and it’s my responsibility to make sure that they can be free to express themselves in anyway they like and it’s a real violation of the family of the set community.”

Will all the press Terminator Salvation and Christian Bale are receiving now, have an effect on the box office take for the flick? Probably not. After all, it’s Christian Bale who’s proven time and time again that he’s a brilliant actor starring in the relaunch of this franchise. I know I’m looking forward to my screening next week. I’d also like to give kudos to Warner Brothers for remembering the movie critics here and giving us a screening of what will no doubt be a box office smash for Memorial Day Weekend.

Enjoy the show!
