Sequel Not Out Yet…But Casting Underway for Third!

The Twilight franchise machine continues to march forward!

The sequel, New Moon, is barely in the can as filming just wrapped up in Italy. But, the casting call has already gone out for the third movie in the popular vampire-flick world. Even though the trailer for New Moon made its debut splash last weekend on the MTV Movie Awards show, the third installment of the Twilight saga is underway. Plans are in place for the release of that movie in the summer of 2010.

That’s right…casting has now begun for the third Twilight movie entitled Eclipse.

Three New Cast Members Needed

On the heels of the shooting of New Moon a casting call has gone forth for three new characters in the next installment of the Twilight franchise. Filmmakers are looking for a new vampire named Riley and Quileute werewolves named Seth and Leah Clearwater.

Just who are these new characters?

Riley is the vampire accomplice to Victoria from the previous two novels. In the book he’s described as “a handsome, blonde, clean-cut college boy in his mid-20’s. Seth is described as a “tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin.” He will be portrayed by a Native American or First Nations actor. Leah Clearwater will also be portrayed by a similar actress but she’s described as “tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair.” Leah’s description goes on to say “she would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues.”

Of course with Eclipse now officially underway, many are wondering when an announcement will come out about a movie centered around the fourth book in the series. Breaking Dawn is the title of the fourth and final book. Will it hit the big screen too? The short answer to that question – Yes! – While details are sketchy, both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have agreed to the final movie.

Enjoy the show!
