The Pickins’ Look Pretty Slim This Weekend!

After an amazing past few weeks of big movies with
big names hitting the big screen every weekend…
Such is not the case for this weekend!
Will Ferrell is back with Land of the Lost this weekend. Honestly, unless you’re a Will Ferrell fan, and I know some of those fans, you probably won’t like this movie. I know one person who said – quote – “Will Ferrell could read a menu and I’d buy a ticket to watch.” – I’m thinking extensive counseling may be in need her.
Aside from the Ferrell flick, My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos is in a new movie called My Life in Ruins. There’s also one R-Rated movie coming out entitled The Hangover.
Personally, my picks for the weekend look like this;
Opening This Weekend
Land of the Lost – Rated PG-13 on 3,521 screens
Based on the 1974-1977 children’s TV series of the same name, the comedy stars Will Ferrell as a scientist sent back in time to an alternate dimension filled with dinosaurs and other exotic species. His goal is to escape with the help of a research assistant and others. Anna Friel and Danny McBride also star.
The Hangover – Rated R on 3,269 screens
Three guys take their soon-to-be-married friend to Las Vegas to party hard before he ties the knot. Following a night of debauchery the groom goes missing and it’s up to his pals to find him. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha star in this movie director by Todd Phillips, who also directed Old School.
My Life in Ruins – Rated PG-13 on 1,164
My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos is a tour guide in Greece who’s unhappy with her life, until she falls for her tour bus driver. Richard Dreyfuss and Rachel Dratch also star.
Enjoy the show!
