Have been greatly exaggerated!
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, also known as Mark Twain, penned the words about the “rumors of his death” after a newspaper published his obituary. Taking pen in hand, Twain corrected the mistake by making a clear statement that the “rumors” were “exaggerated”. Mark Twain did die in 1910.
Apparently a number of stars may need to take out a similar newspaper ad letting their fans know rumors about them have been exaggerated too.
The recent deaths of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays have started a fire storm of rumors about others. That’s right, now it seems every time you turn around, there’s so-called news of another star going dim and burning out.

George Clooney is still alive and kicking.
In the wake of the recent wave of star deaths, Clooney’s publicist says he’s received a number of calls from media, as well as friends, concerning speculation that he was dead.
Other celebrities who’ve been the victim of similar rumors in the past week include Jeff Goldblum and Britney Spears.
