T.J. Hooker Movie With Shatner
William Shatner was shut out of a cameo in this year’s Star Trek reboot. But, don’t expect him to get shut out of another big screen version of one of his shows.
The New York Post is reporting that the producers of the upcoming T.J. Hooker movie want Shatner to appear in the flick in some capacity. Other former stars to appear with Shatner in the movie version of the TV show, Heather Locklear, Adrian Zmed, James Darren and Richard Herd. Producer Ryan Heppe said;
“We absolutely want to try and get the original cast in the movie. It’s all about finding the right story motiviations to include their characters so we’re not just stopping the movie to drop by Adrian Zmed’s house.”
Of course the whole idea of a T.J. Hooker movie leads to one simple question…
Why!? Do we really need a T.J. Hooker movie!?
Maybe the old saying – “There’s nothing new under the sun” – is really true. As for movies based on old TV shows, I just don’t get it. Many times they do not translate well onto the big screen. But, when you think of possible TV shows you’d like to see on the big screen – How many people think of T.J. Hooker? I know for me, that’s certainly not one of the shows topping my list for a big screen appearance.
