Dismal Weekend Box Office Numbers
Funny People debuted in the number one spot of the box office over the weekend. However, no one is laughing all the way to the bank. Funny People, starring Adam Sandler as a terminally-ill comedian who befriends Seth Rogen’s young comic, barely broke the $20 million dollar mark. Both Harry Potter and Transformers continue their box office slide too. While the Potter boy held onto the number 2 spot, it didn’t even pull in $20 million. As for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, it fell all the way to the number 10 spot!
As for other new movies from the weekend – The rated R thriller The Collector didn’t even crack the top 10. The PG flick, Aliens in the Attic debuted in the number 5 spot.
