Movie News & Other Tidbits

Time to clear my desk!

It’s that time of the month. Usually around the first part of the month I try to clean off my desk of various short stories that have stacked up. Stories I’ve collected that are important, but usually too short for a single post.

In movie news today…

  • Cate Blanchett
  • Guy Ritchie
  • Keira Knightley
  • Jeff Foxworthy

Stars In The News

Cate Blanchett suffered a head wound after being hit by a prop during a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire in Sydney this week. A spokesperson for the Sydney Theater Company called the injury “a minor blow.”

Variety is reporting Guy Ritchie will direct Lobo, a big-screen version of the comic book about an alien who arrives on Earth to stop four creatures from causing destruction. The project marks the follow up to Ritchie’s next film, Sherlock Holmes, which opens on Christmas Day.

Keira Knightley may not be the fairest lady around after all. She was reportedly tapped to play Eliza Doolittle in a remake of My Fair Lady. But, it’s now being reported that she’s competing with Scarlett Johansson for the part. It’s also being reported that Daniel Craig might play Henry Higgins in the film.

Jeff Foxworth will provide the voice of Babe the Blue Ox in the animated movie Bunyan & Babe. The new flick will be a modern day take on the Paul Bunyan folk tale. John Goodman is already on-board as the voice of Bunyan.
