101209: Weekend Box Office

Vaughn’s Bad Humor Takes #1 Spot

The studio behind the new Vince Vaughn nightmare new the only way they would get traction was to release his latest when nothing else was opening on the big screen. While Couples Retreat, which also stars Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell, topped the box office, it still didn’t pull in much for a debut weekend. Once again, the overall box office dollar take was rather small. Coming in at number two this week, Zombieland. But, once again, it did not pull in big numbers.

Just to prove my point that there’s nothing worth seeing on the big screen right now, the horror flick Paranormal Activity which opened on just 200 screens, ranked 5th over the weekend!

  1. Couples Retreat – $35.3 million
