Nolan Says No Joker In Third Batman Movie

Third Batman Movie In The Works

The good news is, another Batman movie is in the works. In my opinion, the even better news is…

Batman will do battle with a villain, but it will not be
the Joker in the next Batman movie.

Movie director Christopher Nolan recently announced that the Joker will not be included in the as-yet-untitled film out of respect for the late Heath Ledger. The iconic Joker was brought to life like never before by Ledger in The Dark Knight. Ledger won an Oscar for his performance of the Joker posthumously for playing the Caped Crusader’s nemesis in The Dark Knight.

The Definitive Joker

Christopher Nolan, who directed both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight calls Ledger the “definitive Joker”. Nolan is also quoted as saying, “It wouldn’t feel appropriate to readdress that character. As of yet neither Chris Nolan nor Michael Uslan have said which villains will be featured in the third Batman film, which is currently scheduled to open on July 20, 2012.

In the meantime, Nolan’s latest project – Inception – starring Leonardo DiCaprio, debuts this Friday.

We screened Inception early and our review will appear on Frame by Frame later this week. While it is a little long, I will fans of director Christopher Nolan will not be disappointed with what is best described as a grandiose big screen movie.
