The new J.J. Abrams-Steven Spielberg movie Super 8 grabbed the top box office spot for the weekend pushing the superhero mutants X-Men: First Class out of the way which slipped to the number two spot. 15 year old Joel Courtney plays the main character, Joe Lamb, in Super 8. The young star went through 11 auditions before he was finally given this, his first role, on the big screen.

Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer had a dismal debut struggling to the number seven spot.
